How to Pick Glasses for Your Face Shape

Do you sometimes struggle to decide what type of frame is best for your face? Well you're in luck! You'll discover that there is a frame for everyone - and we can help you find one that is best suited to you!

What face shape do I have?

Your face is likely to be oval, square, round, heart-shaped, or diamond-shaped. If you look in a mirror and examine your facial features closely, you can figure out which one fits you! Let's figure out what face shape you have, and what glasses you'll look best in. Once you have identified your face shape, we have an interactive quiz at the end of this article to help you even more in finding your ideal frames.

Oval Shape Faces?

Many different glasses shapes suit oval faces. An oval-shaped face is characterized by higher and wider cheekbones that are slightly narrower towards the forehead. Almost any style - especially oversized and wide frames - can be worn with a long, rounded face shape. If you have an oval face shape, don't be afraid to experiment with a bold color, texture, or frame shape. There are endless possibilities when it comes to shapes: squares, trapezoids, tortoises, and rectangular shapes.

We recommend staying away from narrow frames and frames with a lot of design elements. Narrow frames tend to make oval faces appear longer.

Square Shape Faces

Square faces tend to be wider at the jaw and forehead. A great pair of eyeglasses will compliment the features of your square-shaped face. Glasses that sit high on the nose and add length to the face are perfect for this shape because it has a strong jawline.

Choose a dark, rounded frame instead of something angular to draw attention to your best features. Your angular features will be softened and given a little contrast with a round eyeglass frame.

Round Shape Faces

Round faces look good in a lot of glasses shapes. However, angular frames work best! The width and length of a round face are about the same, so sharp-angled frames will add more definition and depth.

If you want your features to stand out, avoid round and small frames. You can add length to your face by choosing angular frames that are wide. Consider full-rim frames or semi-rimless frames for added length.

Heart Shape Faces

Faces with a heart shape are wider at the forehead and have a narrow chin and high cheekbones.

It is therefore recommended that you choose thin and lightly colored eyeglass frames that are round or oval in shape. Beware of bottom-heavy frames, oversized frames, and frames with a lot of details. It's about drawing attention to the top of your face and adding balance to the width. Additionally, consider frames that extend slightly beyond your forehead, which will make your face look more balanced.

Diamond Shape Faces

They have full cheeks, narrow foreheads, and a narrow jawline. Diamond faces are rarest. For your face shape, rimless or oval frames with strong brow lines look best. They will emphasize the best features of your face.

Fun and funky frames will enhance your unique features – such as horn rimmed frames or cat eye frames – but keep them delicate to prevent them from emphasizing anything you don't want them to.
